UNTAMED

catered campout RETREAT

Salt Spring Island BC, Canada

July 26-28, 2027

“We are beyond THRILLED to share these life affirming events with you.
It is ALWAYS good to dance, eat and sleep outside.”
-Shauna & Shani

After two decades of bringing people together to dance, Shauna’s enchantment for each opportunity remains as fresh as ever. As a facilitator, DJ, and catalyst for connection and joy, she weaves her love of music, movement, nature, art, and circle into spaces that become powerful paths to wellness, self-awareness, belonging within community, creativity, and embodiment.

What's Included in THE
Untamed RETREAT Experience:

  • Camping Under the Stars: Pitch your tent in either the grassy meadow overlooking Swanson Channel or in the Douglas Fir & Western Cedar forest.

  • Six Gourmet Vegetarian Meals: Savour delicious, locally-sourced, catered meals that nourish body and soul, provided by the astonishing Shani Cranston.

  • Free Time to Explore: Wander the land, dip into the ocean, or simply relax and soak in the stunning natural surroundings. With its seven kilometres of shoreline, rocky headlands, and tiny coves and bays, Ruckle Park provides so much. Forest, field, and shore habitats make it one of the most productive wildlife viewing areas on Salt Spring. Watch for sea lions and killer whales out at sea, as well as mink and river otters cavorting along the shoreline. Tidal pools are filled with a brightly coloured mix of crab, mussel, limpet, oyster, sculpin, starfish, and more.

  • Option to Stay an extra Night: You are welcome to stay on site for an extra night, food is not included. Lunch will be the last meal served. A small grocery shop and a restaurant are a 10-15 minute drive away in Fulford Harbour.

  • Immersive Sessions

    • Dance Under the Open Sky: Experience the delight of dancing freely in nature. No experience needed.

    • Sacred Circles: We will sit in circle together, both practicing the Way of Council and group conversations, plus a little bit of magic.

    • Partner Work: Connect with others through dyads, where we practice the art of both being witnessed and witnessing.

    • Creativity Adventure: Play with art supplies and a project, let yourself experience freedom with your creativity, a place to express and play. All supplies provided for activity.

    • Opportunities for Writing: Explore guided journalling, with prompts and inquiries.

    • Guests Facilitators: TBA (In past retreats, we have been blessed to have a walk with a local biologist, yoga in the field, song and drumming sessions, and more.)

  • No dogs are allowed at this retreat, including service animals

  • Participants must be able to walk through forest terrain and dance on uneven ground (1.5 hours first night, 4 hours second day, and 3 hours final day + walking time)

  • Terrain may include uneven ground, roots, and inclines

  • You are responsible for carrying your own personal belongings and camping gear - wheel barrels are available in the parking lot

  • You must be able to independently set up your own campsite (tent, bedding, etc.) - helping hands are welcomed and often available

  • This is an outdoor, nature-based retreat with limited accessibility accommodations (outhouses, no showers, sinks, or hot water)

  • Please ensure you are physically prepared for these conditions before registering

  • We ask that no photos to be taken of other participants, other than by Shauna - after permission is given at the start of the workshop

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious.
If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door.
If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door.
If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.
